The expo site is located North-West of Milano (Rho-Pero), 15 km from the centre of Milano. It is easy to reach thanks to three highways, the high-speed rail line and the metro. It is only a few kilometers away from the airports of Linate, Malpensa and Orio-al-Serio.
How to arrive to the expo site
The underground metro: Linea 1 (red line) connects the central city network system Molino Dorino and Rho Fiera Milano metro stations. It takes around 40-45 minutes from Milano city centre.
Train system: Rho Fiera Milano railway station is located at the west side of the exposition site and connects regional railway lines to Milan’s underground metro lines.
From Milano Centrale railway station: there will be trains going to Rho Fiera Milano every 8-10 minutes, especially before the opening of the expo. The train takes 10-12 minutes.
From Milano Garibaldi railway station: the trains S5 (direction Varese) and S6 (direction Novara) stop at Rho Fiera Milano. It takes about 15 minutes. These trains leave from platform number 2 (binario 2). At the Garibaldi station, you must go through the Passante Ferroviario to arrive at the Binario 2.
Three main highways are connected to the expo: the A4 Turin-Milan-Venice, the A8/A9 Milan-Como-Chiasso and the Milan-Varese; as well as the ring-road (Tangenziale Ovest) that joins the A1 motorway connecting Milan to Rome and Naples.
The road system is purpose-built for the exposition and should free local roads from traffic going directly to the exposition site.
Cars are not admitted inside the expo site. Parking places will be available in 4 different areas, two at proximity (Merlata with 200 car places and Fieramilano with 10’000 places) and two rather far away from the expo site (Arese with 10’000 places and Trenno with 1550 places). Some shuttle bus will navigate between these parking areas and the expo site.
In accordance with the Expo 2015 theme and sustainability targets during the running of Expo 2015, there will be electric shuttle buses (“People mover service”) driving around the perimeter road of the expo site. There will be 10 different stops. No personal means of transport will be allowed inside the expo.

From Switzerland to the Expo
The CFF/SBB/FFS will insure a regular service of trains from various cities in Switzerland (Geneva, Basel, Zurich, Lugano, etc) directly to the station “Rho Fiera Milano”. During the Expo period, there will be some extra trains per day (2000 extra seats). Train schedules are defined so as to be able to do a visit at the Expo in one day.
